For the second time, Chicago muralist Tracy Van Duinen and his team snagged the $100,000 second-place prize in Grand Rapids, Michigan's ArtPrize contest, where the big money winners are picked by the public.

Here's our story about his first win, two years ago.

It doesn't hurt to be big in this event, and this year's Van Duinen project, "Metaphorest," is a mammoth mosaic mural, 40-feet tall and 88-feet wide.

It also doesn't hurt to have a familiar theme: the $250,000 first-place public vote prize went to a California artist, Mia Tavonatti for a nine-foot by thirteen-foot stained glass mosaic, "Crucifixion."

A second Chicago artist, Caroline Young, won a $7,000 jury prize for her "time-based" work, "Remember: Replay: Repeat."
