A chart on Nov. 6 with an article about the correct way to run misstated the proper position of the elbow in relation to the opposite knee as it moves forward. The elbow should also move forward, not backward.
"Well, duh," a smarter coworker of mine said of the correction. "Think of how you walk."
Think of how you crawl. That whole thing about running barefoot? Clearly not meant for Chicagoans in November. I swear the sharp onyx particulates that pierced my feet and knees had to have come from attempts at pothole repair on Lake Shore Drive and/or the Snowpocalypse disaster-prevention-campaign construction.
At least on the day of the Turkey Trot it was relatively clement. Nevertheless, at around the fifth kilometer, I was kicking myself. Rahm put in a decent performance at the Chicago Triathlon earlier this year. But to my best recollection, he was wearing shoes.
