Roy Haynes is one of the greatest drummers in jazz history and at 86, he's still as cool as ever—just take a look at that guy! He still rips it up on the kit and tours across the world too. We were lucky enough to get Haynes to take part in our Artist on Artist
series this week, so we paired him up with local free-jazz wizard Tim Daisy, and the two sticksmen shared their love for some of jazz's all-time greats. Haynes and his Fountain of Youth Band play Symphony Center on Fri 12/9.
Also on the B side this week: Miles Raymer writes about Bon Iver's Grammy nominations and indie Stockholm syndrome, Gossip Wolf dishes on a new variety show with Nora Brank from Bird Names, Kevin Warwick kicks off In Rotation, and Soundboard recommends shows by Ryan Adams, Third Coast Percussion, Wilco, G-Side, Kathryn Calder, and Psychic TV.
