Might there be private concerts for the G8/NATO visitors? No comment from CSO on that.
Here's the announcement, with dates and changes:
CHICAGO SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA ASSOCIATION ANNOUNCES SCHEDULE CHANGES DUE TO G8/NATO MEETINGS IN CHICAGO IN MAY 2012
CHICAGO — In anticipation of potential traffic disruptions and increased security expected in the Loop and downtown areas in May 2012 when the G8/NATO summit meetings are scheduled to take place in Chicago, the CSO Association has made plans to reschedule four concerts during that time. Most concert programs remain the same, with one exception. All rescheduled concerts remain at Symphony Center.
The CSO matinee scheduled for Friday, May 18 at 1:30 p.m. with guest conductor Jaap van Zweden will be performed on Tuesday, May 15 at 1:30 p.m. The program remains the same.
The CSO concert scheduled for Saturday, May 19 at 8 p.m. has been moved to Saturday, May 12 at 8 p.m. and will instead feature guest conductor Ton Koopman leading the CSO in a program of symphonies by Haydn and Mozart, Haydn’s Cello Concerto in D Major with a soloist to be announced, and music by Locatelli and Rebel.
The Symphony Center Presents Piano recital featuring Emanuel Ax, Orion Weiss, Dong-Hyuk Lim and Mary Sauer, scheduled for Sunday, May 20 at 3 p.m., will take place on Wednesday, May 30 at 8 p.m. The program remains the same.
The CSO concert scheduled for Tuesday, May 22 with guest conductor David Robertson will be performed on Wednesday, May 23 at 7:30 p.m. The program remains the same.
Tickets currently held for any of these performances will be honored on the new dates; new tickets will not be issued.
