Or maybe you're not even searching for Internet love but simply playing the voyeur and dreaming up responses to side-pocket attempts at romance. Either way, I bet you've clicked through posts that are set in your neighborhood.
While the Reader's Valentine's Day package includes enough anti-love diatribes and scandalous anecdotes to keep you entertained through lunch, for sure, the responses by myself, Julia Thiel, and Sam Worley to hand-selected I Saw Yous may be my favorite piece of the whole shebang—check out what happens when there's a love connection in a beer line at a Motorhead concert, for instance.
In honor of the content being so awesome, we thought that soliciting responses from our readers to an I Saw You or two would be a nice extension of the idea. Check out the one I selected below and make up your own response in the comments field. Be ridiculous, be crude, be sincere. If this particular I Saw You doesn't quite do it for you, check back tomorrow for another installment:
Me, koala bear hat. You, witty gentleman in corner. (Red Line.) It was a blustery Wednesday evening. I broke my umbrella later that night. The same umbrella that got tangled in the girl's purse in front of me, immediately following me almost clocking a guy with my yoga mat. You commented that it was fortunate I was wearing a koala bear hat at the time. Friday on the train I came close to falling in someone's lap. I am worried that if I cause further ruckus I'll be forbidden from the Red Line and will never see you again. When: Wednesday, October 19, 2011. Where: red Line between Monroe and Grand. You: Man. Me: Woman.
Also, don't forget to check out our Variations on a Theme feature next week on the Bleader. To go along with the Valentine's, love-everything (or not) theme, next week is appropriately Regrets Week.
