More than 40 musical acts and 250 vendors will be at the 29th annual Taste of Lincoln Avenue. Slow Food Chicago and Slow Food City's Edge are holding a picnic potluck at Garfield Farm. The main course will be vegetarian "snail" pasta by Valentino Pasta's Jeff Valentino. Today is the "Red Canary Open," the Red Canary's third annual golf outing at the Deerfield Golf Club. Check-in and breakfast is at the Red Canary; once at the Deerfield Golf Club, there will be an open bar, games, and dinner, as well as prizes and an award ceremony. A Tale of Two Chefs' Chef Julius Russell and his staff are opening a pop-up restaurant for one night at Westminster Hot Dog. There will be ten to 12 courses featuring global dishes such as blackened Chilean sea bass with heirloom pepper puree and squash-and-sweet-corn succotash; a vegetarian menu is also available. DMK Burger Bar and Hinterland Beer are teaming up for a multicourse beer dinner featuring courses such as cherry relish sliders and Wisconsin cheddar fries paired with Door County Cherry Wheat.
