Ever wish video game music was more . . . orchestral? Then The Legend of Zelda: Symphony of the Goddesses is for you. Tonight at the Chicago Theatre, the soundtrack to the popular series is performed in a complete four-movement symphony, accompanied by footage of the games themselves.
Spoon front man Britt Daniel performs at the Logan Auditorium with his side project Divine Fits, whose debut effort A Thing Called Divine Fits "purges all unnecessary gestures, so that even the driving synth-pop song 'My Love Is Real' has a precise, almost robotic starkness," according to Peter Margasak. After canceling his performance at the Just For Laughs comedy festival, Mike Birbiglia—star, writer, and codirector of the film Sleepwalk With Me, which has enjoyed a lengthy theatrical run here in Chicago—makes good on his promise to reschedule: he performs his one-man show My Girlfriend's Boyfriend at Victory Gardens Theater.
