After spending the week in your cubicle staring at a computer screen, your eyes deserve a look at something interesting. Here's what's happening this weekend:

Thursday 8/15

"On The Wall: Zine Art Meets Gallery Art" at Strange Beauty Show. Quimby's Bookstore and Strange Beauty Show team up for a show featuring the works of zine and comic artists.

"The Art of Concrete Art" at Ozinga Ready Mix Concrete. You might want to change out of your work clothes before this one! Take a tour of Ozinga's concrete plant, explore artists' concrete sculptures, and mold some creations of your own when you get the chance to dig your hands into some wet concrete. Proceeds benefit the Chicago Public Art Group.

Friday 8/16

"Data Viz Collaborative." Opening on Friday, this exhibition is the result of a collaboration between art and science students from Northwestern and SAIC. Read Aimee Levitt's write-up here.

After Dark at the Art Institute of Chicago. A nighttime affair offering a look at the museum's Modern Wing, including special tours of the museum's "Impressionism, Fashion, and Modernity" show, a performance by theater ensemble Collaboraction, and DJ sets and live music.

Glenwood Avenue Arts Fest. The free weekend-long outdoor festival kicks off Friday in Rogers Park, featuring more than 100 visual artists as well as music across three stages.

Saturday 8/17

Chicago Fashion Fest. Beginning its fifth run on Saturday, the two-day Wicker Park festival will include outdoor runway and fashion shows, plus booths from local shops.

Sunday 8/18

Vintage Garage Chicago. Adopting a "Punk and the 80s" theme this weekend, the monthly market offers vintage clothing, jewelry, knickknacks, and other items.
