If you have a short attention span, Martyrs' PechaKucha Night may be for you. Artists George Aye, Hebru Brantley, Patty Carroll, Adam Voss, and Diane Alexander White are among tonight's presenters, each armed with 20 slides they're allowed to discuss for just 20 seconds apiece.
With a debut album on the way after a string of digital singles that "accumulated a thunderous amount of buzz," the Scottish band Chvrches performs tonight at Lincoln Hall. But Reader critic Kevin Warwick recommends arriving early to catch opening act XXYYXX, whose "bedroom tracks are sometimes cosmic, with sharp-edged washes of samples speeding past one another."
"Data Viz Collaborative," an exhibit of numbers-crunching work by science students from Northwestern and SAIC art and design students, continues through Friday at the LeRoy Neiman Center Lobby, 37 S. Wabash.
