Spray Paint, out of Austin, Texas, is quite possibly my favorite band currently in existence, so I was pretty stoked to find out that this past Tuesday they released Rodeo Songs, their second LP of the year. Today's 12 O'Clock Track is a song from the new record, "Bring Dumpster Back," and it's a prime example of what makes this band so good. Picking up exactly where they left off on their first, self-titled record, this song is a plodding, paranoid no-wave number. Bizarre detuned guitar licks cross paths with damaged, drugcentric lyrics delivered in the band's signature deadpan drawl. The whole thing is kind of gross and unsettling—but I mean that in the best way possible.

Spray Paint's first record is one of my favorites of the year, and what I've heard off of Rodeo Songs is just as good, if not better. Both are available via S.S. Records and highly recommended.
