Tomorrow there's Wayne "the Train" Hancock at City Winery and Michael Zerang & the Blue Lights at Bar DeVille. On Wednesday you can check out Hamid Drake at Hideout or Wishgift at Empty Bottle.
There are plenty of other shows to see this week—head to Soundboard to dive into all the Reader's listings and read on for a pick from one of our critics.
Wed 1/22: Perfect Pussy at Schubas
"Syracuse five-piece Perfect Pussy creates a study in unexpectedly synergistic contrasts with its self-released debut EP, I Have Lost All Desire for Feeling—grindcore musicians collaborating with indie rockers, hooky pop that careens face-first into punishing noise, and songs titled with cryptic, borderline pretentious Roman numerals whose lyrics detail the inner life of front woman Meredith Graves with a radical honesty that the most devoted emo revivalist might find too real," writes Miles Raymer. "Intensely abrasive and highly listenable, it's one of last year's most fascinating and enjoyable guitar-based experiences."
