Looking for something to do today? Agenda's got you covered.

Haymarket Pub & Brewery's LitMash brings together poets, storytellers, and comedians for an evening of spoken-word entertainment. And to make things interesting, there will be five randomly selected judges who get to award a cash prize. Performers include Dan Sully, Adrienne Gunn, and Bryant Cross.

Youth Code is turning back the clock on industrial music, and Miles Raymer is a fan. He praises the band's self-titled debut in Soundboard, writing, "It follows a formula that dates from the 80s heyday of legendary local label Wax Trax!, which still sounds fresh despite years on mothballs." See them tonight at Cobra Lounge. Coming, Surachai, and Auditor open.

The Mother, Bertolt Brecht's propagandistic 1932 "learning play," is turned into "an arresting, hypnagogic pageant" in Oracle Theatre's current production, says Justin Hayford. "The fired-up cast infuse Brecht's didacticism with harrowing urgency." Moreover, the show's free.
