Today the Pitchfork Music Festival (7/18-7/20) announced its 2014 lineup. It was going to prove difficult to top the star power of last year's headliners (Bjork, Belle & Sebastian, R. Kelly), but the Union Park festival tried all the same. And that's pretty admirable. This year is heavy on hip-hop and cozy indie rock (and noticeably light on punk and metal), with Beck, Neutral Milk Hotel, and Kendrick Lamar owning the three top spots. Check out the almost-complete lineup below—a few stragglers might still be added—with links to our past coverage included.
And I'd be remiss if I didn't mention that the Reader's very own Gossip Wolf successfully predicted six of the Pitchfork guests: Deafheaven, Perfect Pussy, Speedy Ortiz, Sun Kil Moon, Kelela, and Mutual Benefit. Six of 44. Hey, could've been a lot worse.
