Looking for something to do today? Agenda's got you covered.

The Silent Film Society of Chicago, as dedicated as ever to its mission, presents a screening of Charlie Chaplin's The Kid, with accompaniment by the 40-piece Greensboro Symphony Youth Orchestra. Yes, an entire orchestra, not just a lone pianist, will be performing the silent film's score. Check it out tonight at the Patio Theater.

Comedian Todd Barry returns to Lincoln Hall tonight with no prepared material as part of his Final Crowd Work tour. Kevin Warwick writes, "His quick wit aside, Barry's calming demeanor sells this wing-it brand of comedy. With a delivery that sits somewhere between controlled exasperation and a hypnotic, stoic ache, the comic never lets loose."

Jazz violinist Regina Carter plays at the Symphony Center tonight, reinterpreting traditional southern American songs. In Soundboard Peter Margasak writes, "she and her band generally update these old styles or hybridize them with newer ones, rather than attempting to re-create or preserve them." She opens for Mavis Staples.
