Looking for something to do today? Agenda's got you covered.

Ten years ago, "freelance mind-wizard" Steve Krakow (known to Reader readers as Plastic Crimewave) debuted the info-strip "The Secret History of Chicago Music" in our music pages. To celebrate the anniversary of an indispensable guide to the dusty corners of the city's musical past, Krakow, Roctober editor Jake Austen, and cartoonist Chris Ware will participate in a panel discussion on "The Secret History of Chicago Zines" at the University Village branch of Powell's Bookstores today. And on Monday, you can catch a complementary Empty Bottle show featuring Ono, Bil Vermette, and Krakow himself.

For over a decade now, the Austin, Texas-based organizers of the 20x2 event series have brought together artists, writers, and other assorted characters to answer open-ended questions in creative and unpredictable ways. In its second-ever event today, 20x2's Chicago branch will give 20 speakers two minutes each to reply to the question "Where are we?" Technically, the answer will be Schubas, but you can expect participants like animator Dan Henrick and "adventurer" Eamon Daly to provide more entertaining responses.

Lastly, the pious among you should be sure to celebrate the holy resurrection of the American independent record store today. Check out our Record Store Day interactive map and listings for info on neat in-store events like Hyde Park Records' Soul Reunion, which will feature appearances by "some of Chicago's best soul singers, including Syl Johnson, Ruby Andrews, and Linda Clifford."
