Come out, show your pride, and celebrate the weekend with comedians, bands, celebrities, and fellow Chicagoans at the Back Lot Bash. The four-day party kicks off tonight with a comedy lineup featuring Lea DeLaria (Orange is the New Black) and Caitlin Bergh. The party continues through Sunday with special guests Leisha Hailey and Kate Moennig (The L Word), and performances by Xoe Wise, and Vic and Gab.
If you want to immerse yourself in the theater experience, Natalie DiCristofano's Burn the Black Dog is for you. The play, which follows a group of mischievous Catholic school girls who dabble in Wicca, takes advantage of its setting at the Luther Memorial Church to create a harrowing night of entertainment. As an interactive play it takes two groups of audience members through different scenes before throwing them together during payoff moments, writes the Reader's Justin Hayford.
Chicago's Techweek wraps up today with some tech-inspired EDM tunes courtesy of the Future Sound Music Festival, a three-day concert series at the Merchandise Mart. Performers include Eric Prydz, Morgan Page, and St. Lucia.
