No better chance to get some summer reads than at the Newberry Book Fair. The books are cheap, averaging $2 apiece, and offering over 120,000 used books in every genre imaginable. The fair runs through the weekend.

It's the last Friday of the month, meaning drivers in downtown better prepare for a wave of bikers joining together for Critical Mass. It's really a sight to see even if you don't join the ride but, still, get your bike out—you'll have a good time.

Juke Fest, which got its name from a term originating in the inner workings of Chicago's 90's music scene that has evolved since, brings together a collection of the area's biggest DJ's for a full-force dance party. The lineup includes DJ Deeon, Molly Bass, and DJ Spinn, fresh off his performance at Pitchfork last weekend.
