Looking for something to do today? Agenda's got you covered.
Today is the second leg of the Renegade Craft Fair's September market. From 11 AM to 6 PM, Wicker Park's Division Street (between Damen and Paulina) is lined with jewelry, stationery, clothing, leather goods, art prints, housewares, and other trinkets. Reckless Records DJs spin music, while vendors like Mana Food Bar, Dia de los Tamales, and Chicago's Doghouse serve up fresh nosh.
The Four Star Bike and Chow pairs two unlikely activities—biking and gourmet food sampling—into one Sunday morning excursion. Participants choose from 12, 22, 43, or 62-mile route options by the lakefront on Chicago's south side. After feasting your eyes on the scenery, you can stuff your face at the various rest stops, including Lou Malnati's, New Furama, Pierogi Wagon, and Bridgeport Pasty.
Tenor saxophonist Travis Laplante performs with his quartet Battle Trance at Roscoe Village's Constellation tonight. "The band . . . uses hocketing patterns, furry multiphonics, and drones fueled by circular breathing to create a constantly changing piece that wends from the parade-ground precision of Philip Glass's small-group music to the emotionally extravagant expressionism of storefront gospel," says Reader contributor Bill Meyer. Doug Perkins's percussion-led trio opens.
