Chicago rapper Probcause is known for rapping in speedy vocal loop-the-loops that can bring vibrancy to a droll beat. But it's a real pleasure to hear him do the opposite—vibe off an instrumental that bustles and burns— as he does on his latest single, "M.I.A." Producer Drew Mantia fuses liquid synth stabs, incandescent soul melodies, and bone-snapping percussion for a jubilant end-of-summer jam that Probcause takes to with ease. Ace local MC Saba also gets in on the fun of "M.I.A." and further extends the feel-good buoyancy, though I could stand to hear a longer version of this tune. "M.I.A." is today's 12 O'Clock Track, and it'll be on Probcause's album Drifters, which producer Gramatik will release Friday through his label, Lowtemp Music.

Take a listen to the tune below, and if you dig Saba's lines be sure to stop by Subterranean tonight to catch him as part of a jam night helmed by Social Experiment drummer Stix. Hurt Everybody, Thelonious Martin, Kami De Chukwu, and DJ Chantae are also slated to perform; vocalist Eryn Allen Kane and producer and Social Experiment member Peter Cottontale host.
