Through 5/2:
During James Beard Eats Week more than 100 of Chicago's top restaurants—including Belly Q, Frontier, and Ramen-San—offer special menus in celebration of the annual James Beard Awards.

Mon 4/25: The Literature for All of Us Action Council hosts Beer and Tacos for Literacy, a benefit featuring raffles, Lagunitas beer, and all the Flaco's Tacos you can eat at the Lagunitas Tap Room (2607 W. 17th). 5:30 PM

Mon 4/25:
The monthly comedy brunch show at the Hideout (1354 W. Wabansa), the Late Late Breakfast, presents Breakfast for Dinner, a special nighttime show with some of Chicago's up-and-coming comedians. And as always, free pancakes! 9 PM

Tue 4/26: The storytelling series Chicago Moth StorySlam comes to Lincoln Hall (2424 N. Lincoln) to present a collection of tales inspired by the theme "romance." Guests are encouraged to come prepared with their own stories of love, good and bad. 8 PM

Wed 4/27: Indie-pop singer-songwriter Frankie Cosmos plays Lincoln Hall (2424 N. Lincoln). The Reader's Kevin Warwick writes, "Unlike so much twee-flavored indie-everything it's actually easy to never mind the preciousness of the arrangements if you’re not into that sort of thing, because the subtle power and command of Cosmos alone will be more than enough to lure you into loving her records." 7 PM

Wed 4/27:
Blaze the bourbon trail at this Old-fashioned Tasting at Ranalli's (1925 N. Lincoln), featuring cocktails made with WhistlePig, Old Forester, Woodford Reserve, Bulleit, and Buffalo Trace bourbons, plus appetizers and goodie bags. 7 PM

Thu 4/28: Media mogul Arianna Huffington kicks off the spring Chicago Humanities Festival series, discussing her book The Sleep Revolution at Francis W. Parker School (2233 N. Clark). 6 PM

Thu 4/28: Chicago producers and creators read some of their worst prose and verse at Bad Poetry Night at the Book Cellar (4736 N. Lincoln). Featured readers include, Inés Bellina, Noah Cruickshank, Andrew Huff, James Kennedy, and more. 7 PM
