Time to plan the first official week of summer. Here's some of what we recommend:

Through 7/10: "American Glass Now" at the Logan Center for the Arts (915 W. 60th) is a group show featuring contemporary stained glass work. Awards ceremony and reception with artists will be held on Fri 7/8, 7-9 PM.

Mon 6/20-Wed 6/22:
The Cubbies face off against their feathered rivals to the southwest, the Saint Louis Cardinals, in a three-game series at the recently renovated Friendly Confines (1060 W. Addison). Mon-Tue 7:05 PM, Wed 1:20 PM

Tue 6/21: The Field Museum hosts Out in the Field: Slushies and Science, a party at Sidetrack (3349 N. Halsted) exploring sexual behavior in nature, including a shark "virgin birth" and same-sex mating rituals between penguins. All funds raised will go directly to families affected by the Orlando shooting. 6-8 PM

Wed 6/22: Coauthors Rachel Cassandra and Lauren Gucik discuss their book Women Street Artists of Latin America: Art Without Fear and lead a stencil-making workshop at 57th Street Books (1301 E. 57th). Bring a T-shirt or tote bag and paint directly onto items, or get even wackier and bring an old toaster, broken record, or some other random object to decorate. 6 PM

Wed 6/22: Vernacular photo collectors Nicholas Osborn and Ron Slattery showcase their collection of 16 mm music video reels from the 1960s during Scopitone Party 2 at Comfort Station (2579 N. Milwaukee) as part of the Vernacular Photography Festival. 8 PM

Wed 6/22-Sun 6/26: Under the Gun Theater (956 W. Newport) and Zanies Comedy Club (1548 N. Wells) present Snubfest, featuring comedians and performers from across the country who have been rejected by other festivals in the previous calendar year. Each Snubfest act will perform in front of a panel of judges for a chance to win performance slots on local and national stages. Various times
