There's plenty to do this weekend before the holidays hit. Here's some of what we recommend:

Fri 12/15:
Spend the evening at the Bridgeport Art Center Holiday Night Market shopping for wares and perusing four galleries—all at the eponymous Bridgeport Art Center (1200 W. 35th). All goods and art are made by residents of the neighborhood. 7-10 PM, free

Fri 12/15: GayCo Productions' sketch comedy revue, 'Tis the Seasonal Depression, focuses on the emotional roller coaster that is the holiday season. See it at Pride Arts Center (4147 N. Broadway). 8 PM, $20, $12 students

Sat 12/16: Matt Braunger, who trained in Chicago and remains a local favorite, brings his Braunger Than Yesterday stand-up tour to Lincoln Hall (2424 N. Lincoln). He was recently seen at the late comedian Pat Brice's 40th Birthday Tribute. 10 PM, $20

Sat 12/16: The mini Father’s Day party Dad’s Basement Holiday B&B includes Bite Cafe bites, the opportunity to donate to the Greater Chicago Food Depository, and dad-rock tunes spun by Ryan Duggan and the Reader’s own Luca Cimarusti. Dad it out at the Empty Bottle (1035 N. Western). Noon, free

Sat 12/16: Art, music, and drinks will soon have a new home in the Pilsen neighborhood. Lake Shore Dive, a pop-up bar, opens the doors of Circus Studio (2156 W. 18th) for its inaugural event—offering Chicago tunes spun by DJs and custom paintings of prominent local figures like Chance the Rapper. 7:30 PM, $15

Sun 12/17: Fancy some Shakespeare? Twelfth Night ends its run tonight at the Lincoln Park Conservatory (2391 N. Stockton). The Reader's Dan Jakes writes, "Stylistically, [director Dylan S.] Roberts and the young cast lean into the broad silliness inherent in the story." 7:30 PM, free

Sun 12/17: At Here, Chicago, professional storytellers and five attendees (in open-mike slots) share the spotlight at Stage 773 (1225 W. Belmont) while the audience fills their bellies with food brought for a potluck. This edition notably features curmudgeon extraordinaire Ian Belknap. 7:30 PM, $11, free with a dish for the potluck

Sun 12/17: Occasional Reader contributor Christopher Piatt waxes poetic about Chicago's theater scene, the critics who cover it, and the politics behind it at Topdog/Watchdog, or Who Is Sylvia? This performance at the Hideout (1354 W. Wabansia) will be recorded and distributed by the Reader. 3 PM, $10
