100 Acts of Sewing Agenda Free Recommended Image

When: Fri., March 29, 6 p.m. 2013

While you spent much of your year narrowly avoiding death, fiber artist Sonya Philip spent hers hunkered down at her sewing machine making 100 dresses. To show people they don't have to rely on mass-produced "fast fashion" and to celebrate the art of handcrafted clothing, Philip shows off her year's yield in "100 Acts of Sewing." On Saturday and Sunday, she'll teach a workshop (10 AM-4 PM) in which each student will complete an A-line garment (registration required; $250).
