As Adam Sandler vehicles go, this isn't quite as dire as Eight Crazy Nights, but any movie that has to fall back on Rob Schneider rubbing his nipples has some serious script issues. A marine veterinarian in Hawaii (Sandler) falls head over heels for a local lovely (Drew Barrymore) but learns that she suffers from short-term memory loss and has to be charmed off her feet over and over again. Sandler's early comedies had a goofy innocence, but the emotional compass here seems way off: his love scenes with Barrymore are terminally sappy, while the most enchanting gag, his friendship with an aquarium walrus, devolves into tired toilet humor. Peter Segal directed; with Sean Astin and Dan Aykroyd. PG-13, 106 min.
