Will Ackerman returns to Chicago for Sept. 1 Openlands benefit

WHAT: Grammy Award-winning recording artist Will Ackerman will perform an exclusive evening of music inspired by nature in his first appearance in Chicago in more than 20 years. All proceeds from the concert will benefit Openlands and its regional conservation and urban greening programs. The concert is presented by CenterPoint Properties and hosted by The Elements Group. WHO: Will Ackerman, the founder of Windham Hill Records and Grammy-award winning acoustic guitarist, is praised by Billboard magazine for “a timeless introspection that has made his music so enduring.” Ackerman is universally recognized as a preeminent pioneer in the new age music movement. His inspiration comes as much from a lifelong kinship with nature as "a thorough love of the mystery of making music." WHEN: Wednesday, Sept. 1, 2010 • 6 - 7:15 p.m. Reception featuring complimentary locally sourced appetizers and organic beer and cocktails before the concert • 7:30 p.m. Concert in the Spertus Institute’s Feinberg Theater COST: Tickets begin at $75 per person and include the pre-concert reception.
