A Heart and Other Small Shapes: Jennifer Reeder Videos 1995-2006

Jennifer Reeder is still known as “white trash girl,” her character in the 1995 The Devil Inside—an inbred baby raised in a toxic sewer who grows into a woman you don't want to mess with. In Reeder's latest, A Heart and Other Small Shapes, she depicts a much tamer woman—a mom who's disturbed by the dirty words on a neighbor girl's drawings and has oddly strained sex (one encounter's filmed from under the bed)—yet a vague feeling of unease permeates everything. The unease is intense in Nevermind (1999), in which Reeder lip-synchs Kurt Cobain at a very slow speed. 75 min.
