"Read with Literacy Works" event features local, New York Times bestselling author Jen Lancaster sharing excerpts from her new book Pretty in Plaid: A Life, a Witch, and a Wardrobe, or, the Wonder Years Before the Condescending, Egomaniacal, Self-Centered Smart Ass Phase to benefit Literacy Works. This event is part of "Read with Literacy Works," a series of readings by local authors that benefit Literacy Works, a non-profit organization that provides training to more than 750 volunteer tutors and literacy program staff every year, who in turn help an estimated 10,000 adult learners at community-based agencies reach their literacy and language goals. $10 suggested donation at the door, cash only please. All proceeds benefit Literacy Works.
