A Raisin in the Sun

Danny Glover really chews the scenery in this 1989 television production of Lorraine Hansberry's stage perennial about a black family struggling to make ends meet on the south side of Chicago. Though a distant second to the 1961 film version, it's worth seeing for Esther Rolle's dignified performance as the sturdy matriarch. 171 min.
