A Separate Peace

Larry Peerce's adaptation of John Knowles's perennial high school English text consists mainly of bland young actors reciting selected excerpts as they pose amid the autumnal New England scenery. John Heyl and Parker Stevenson are the prep-school roommates who play out an allegorical game of love and death as World War II rages offstage. With William Roerick, Peter Brush, and Victor Bevine (1972).
