Free Street Theater offers a free show for the city's "Night Out in the Parks" program, touring four parks on the south and west sides. The curated showcases feature a lineup of storytellers, poets, Free Street ensemble actors, and audio creatives to "explore how grief and transformation go together, asking what the past year has offered in terms of imagining new and joyful ways of being in community with each other." On Tuesday, July 27, they are at Sherman Park, 1301 W. 52nd. On Wednesday, July 28, they are at Ogden Park, 6500 S. Racine. On Thursday, July 29, they are at Cornell Square Park, 1809 W. 50th. And on Friday, July 30, they are at Clark Park, 3400 N. Rockwell. The series, curated by Free Street operations manager Donna Gary, also offers "a space to engage in meaningful and joyful performances and activities that invite audiences to engage in spiritual reflection, verbal affirmations, and rest guided by the MC, Syd Shaw."
