The opening act on this double bill of long-form improv is The Diary Project, a series of vignettes that spring from and inspire diary entries read aloud. "Dear tetanus bacteria," began one, "you're an unwelcome houseguest." In the headlining act, Cap & Gown Theatre Company's Adventures in Comedy, the premise is that a group of friends gather to play Dungeons & Dragons but instead improvise, sort of following the role-playing game's rules. These two playful efforts have an attractive kids-at-recess quality, but both ensembles struggle to locate or extend laughs. Only Laura Nosko--one of two people in both casts--has the committed, complex oddness needed to keep the evening unpredictable. Through 8/25: late Fri 12:15 AM, $5-$10.
