All in Love Is Fair Closing (Theater and Galleries) The Short List (Theater)

When: Fridays-Sundays. Continues through May 8 2011

Set in the fictional town of Love, Illinois, Jackie Taylor's latest jukebox musical punctuates slice-of-life scenes about romance with kick-ass cover versions of golden-oldie love songs. It's the music, not Taylor's predictable book, that make this show fly. The eclectic, often surprising score is heavy on tunes written and made famous by Luther Vandross, but Taylor also finds room for such chestnuts as "The Way We Were," "The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face," and "(You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman." Robert Reddrick leads a hard-rocking band. --Jack Helbig
