Bobby Rush rants about the institutional racism of Daley's City Hall, but he exposes his own hypocrisy by his treatment of Asian-Americans on his Walk for Change, during which he repeatedly called a Chinese restaurateur "Ms. Eggroll" [February 5]. That's the equivalent of calling a Latino "Mr. Taco" or an African-American "Ms. Collard Greens." Rush relies on a demeaning nickname based on stock ethnic images instead of finding out the proprietor's name. His marginalization of that Asian-American store owner shows that despite his talk, Rush is only interested in promoting certain groups at the expense of equal respect for all--which doesn't deserve our vote.
