Gian Carlo Menotti's opera, originally presented on NBC in 1951, tells the tale of a disabled young shepherd who sees a star in the east and meets three kings. It's presented by Chicago Chamber Opera for the 14th holiday season in a row, directed by Francis Menotti, the composer's son, and based on his father's original staging, and includes dancers from Ensemble Español Spanish Dance Theatre, with choreography by Dame Libby Komaiko and Monica Saucedo.
