aMoratorium

When: First Friday, Saturday of every month. Continues through Jan. 4 2020

Choreographer J'Sun Howard, who created this piece through a commission from the Art Institute of Chicago, honors the work of Charles Wilbert White, a prominent Black artist who worked during Chicago's "Black Renaissance" of the 1930s and '40s. Howard's piece, performed by Dedrick Gray and Solomon Bowser, meditates on Black male identity and temporality and death, particularly as it relates to Black spiritual traditions.
