An Average Little Man

Italian director Mario Monicelli's black social comedy, about a minor government official who goes on vengeful rampage after his son is killed by a terrorist. Monicelli (Big Deal on Madonna Street, The Organizer) has never been much of a stylist, though his films reveal a willingness to take on contemporary social themes within an Italian commercial context. With Alberto Sordi and Shelley Winters (1977).
