Exasperated with her cat Ernie, who bites her and “terrorizes” her other cat, media artist Kathy High contacts Dawn Hayman, an “animal communicator” with Spring Farm CARES, an animal sanctuary in upstate New York. Her curiosity piqued by seeing Ernie improve after just a few phone calls, High visits the farm, whose personnel believe in telepathy between humans and animals. This enjoyable, lighthearted documentary (2001, 59 min.) neither mocks nor endorses the notion that a horse could vicariously experience the European travels of the farm's cofounder, though High films her own cats in a way that gives them an amusingly spooky and knowing presence. High will attend and screen some works in progress. Total program time about 90 minutes.
