He's stationed in Buffalo and performs frequently in Europe, but in these parts pianist Anthony de Mare is one of the avant-garde's best-kept secrets. Not only is he acclaimed for his sensitve pianism and stunning interpretations, but his repertoire admits of no stylistic limitations: the present program will range from George Antheil's ultramodern classic the "Airplane" Sonata to pieces by Meredith Monk, Charles Wuorinen, Frank Zappa, Philip Glass, and Chicago's own Peter Gena. The management cannot be held responsible for resulting cases of aesthetic whiplash. Tuesday, 6:30 PM, Curtiss Hall, Fine Arts Building, 410 S. Michigan; 443-3700.
