Are We Done Yet?

Director Steve Carr continues his streak of numbingly mediocre family comedies (Dr. Dolittle 2, Daddy Day Care, Rebound) with this perfunctory sequel to Are We There Yet? (2005). Ice Cube, Nia Long, and their two smart-ass kids move into a picturesque country house and discover it's in dire need of repair; the sneaky real estate agent who sold them the place (John C. McGinley of Scrubs) doubles as the local contractor and proceeds to milk them dry. McGinley, a durable character actor who usually plays heartless assholes, is severely miscast as a twinkly Gene Wilder type, and his performance may give you nightmares. PG, 85 min.
