Spectralia Theatre is touring this 90-minute rendition of Shakespeare's romantic comedy to seven Chicago parks this summer. The cast must be relieved to be done with the opening locale, Ravenswood Manor Park, where they had to compete with a busy el stop, two busy streets, a busy O'Hare flight path, and a playground full of busy kids. But even on the quietest patch of green, Don Johnson's breathless production would be difficult to follow. Broad physical comedy is a great way to inject spectacle into an outdoor show, and Johnson makes wise use of it here. But his uneven cast push the amped-up approach too far, reducing characters and plotlines to hastily drawn, indistinct sketches. —Justin Hayford
