Bailiwick Repertory Directors' Festival: "GLBT Briefs"

The final installment of Bailiwick Repertory's 2003 showcase of emerging directors focuses on gay- and lesbian-themed works. The series runs July 7-30 at the Bailiwick Arts Center, 1229 W. Belmont. Performances take place Monday-Wednesday at 7:30 PM; each evening features three or four short plays. Tickets are $10 per evening; a pass costs $25. MONDAY, JULY 7

The Tiny Closet

William Inge's semiautobiograpical account of being gay in the mid-20th century is directed by Christopher Berens.

Just Thinking

Alan Kravitz's play focuses on a boy's struggle with his sexual identity--a conflict realized by fantasy images of the Perfect Man and the Nice Jewish Girl. Brian Nitzkin directs.

Marigold

James Geneske's poetic play about "a harrowing experience" is staged by Anthony Martinez.

A Rustle of Wings

Linda Eisenstein's short play, directed by Sara Rosen, depicts a supernatural barroom encounter between a woman and an angel.
