John Lahr, writing in the New Yorker in October 1993, called Houston stand-up comedian Bill Hicks "an exhilarating comic thinker in a renegade class all his own." Less than four months later Hicks died of cancer at age 32. This video tribute features three appearances: in 1989 at the Laff Stop in Austin, Texas (85 min.), in 1992 at the Dominion Theatre in London (60 min.), and in 1993 as a guest on the Austin cable-access program Capzeyez (75 min.).
