After being inducted into the Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Fame earlier this year and issuing yet another greatest-hits collection, Blondie has hit the road on what's being promoted as the group's final tour. It might be cliche to say that all the recent attention has highlighted just how timeless their music is, but when they're pop-perfect they are bulletproof. Songs like "Atomic," "Call Me," and their cover of "Hanging on the Telephone" are part of the DNA of any self-respecting music fan, let alone anyone who ever had even a mild new-wave phase. (That still doesn't excuse the comp's totes-frightening bonus track, "Rapture Riders," a mash-up of "Rapture" and the Doors' abominable "Riders on the Storm.") The band's lineup is mostly the original cast (keyboardist Jimmy Destri, guitarist Chris Stein, drummer Clem Burke), and even if Debbie Harry's trademark tresses are now brunette, she's still as iconic as ever. The New Cars, fronted by Todd Rundgren, open. Sat 6/3, 7:30 PM, Pavilion, Ravinia Festival, Green Bay & Lake Cook Rds., Highland Park, 847-266-5100, reserved seats $85, lawn seats $20. All ages.
