Borsalino | Chicago Reader

A French gangster film, though, as the title suggests, the focus is more on men's fashions of the fabulous 30s than on gunplay. Jean-Paul Belmondo and Alain Delon are the two boyhood friends who rise to the top of Marseilles' underworld; Jacques Deray's direction is light and jokey, with occasional flashes of existential violence. Catherine Rouvel and Michel Bouquet costar (1970).
