Since the McCormick Place expansion crushed his Cottage Grove crib, gallery owner Paul Waggoner has been living it up 235 miles south of the city in Linton, Indiana. In recent weeks he's been coming back and forth looking for new digs and putting together his annual holiday exhibit at the Second Presbyterian Church. This year's theme is of course the new millennium, and the artists include Linda Kramer, Anne Farley Gaines, and James Mesple, whose "Madonna of Chicago" is pictured here. Vocalist John Nelson will perform accompanied by organist Michael Shawgo at today's free opening; there will also be food and tours of the church, and many of the artists will be present. It's from 1 to 4 at the church, 1936 S. Michigan (312-225-4951). The exhibit runs through January 6. --Cara Jepsen
