Carnaval | SushiSamba Rio | Food Events | Chicago Reader

When: Sat., March 5, 9 p.m. 2011

SushiSamba Rio celebrates Rio de Janeiro's annual Carnaval--originally a Portuguese pre-Lenten festival--with a live feed from Brazil, drummers, samba dancers, and a special menu of festive dishes. The latter includes casquinha do siri (blue crab, remoulade, lime), acaraje (black bean fritters with braised short ribs and pickled onions), and coconut flan with a lime beignet and pineapple-caipirinha sorbet. A tangerine honey caipirinha is the featured drink.
