To the editors:
Thanks for the superb article by Florence Hamlish Levinsohn on the life and candidacy of Carol Moseley Braun [March 6]. What a wonderful opportunity Illinois has: to elect a black woman senator from the Land of Lincoln! Paul Simon, a political hero to me for years and years, has gone way down in my estimation by suporting Dixon when he should have been Braun's strongest supporter in view of his political philosophy.
An important reminder to voters who plan to continue the mean administration of Reagan-Bushism: They will be voting not only for an aging Bush (whose health seems to be failing), but for his possible successor. That's why I'm wearing a pin which reads: The G.O.P. WANTS YOU to re-elect Quayle.
