Dear Reader,

I was rather dismayed by your recent review of the Viaduct Theater's production of Soul of a Whore ["Revenge Is Bitter," November 21]. As a British playwright/performance artist, I seek out rare, exceptional theater work whenever I visit Chicago. I found the production of Soul of a Whore to be such a work--daring, intelligent, raw, and filled with performances that were at once thoughtful and impassioned. I do not feel the quality of the show was adequately reflected in your review.

It disheartens me that a theater company who is brave enough to take on such challenging, original work is not sufficiently honored. Viaduct, I toast you.
