To the editors:

Rare indeed is the article, feature or otherwise, that has me making appreciative exclamations throughout, and prompting me to sit down post-haste at the typewriter to thank the publication for said article [October 6].

Your feature, "A Ministry of Music," about Cantor Paul O. Manz and his work was done with great sensitivity. It reflects with spare yet graceful prose about a great organist, composer, and minister of music.

Those of us who have devoted our lives to God and the People of God through the ministry of church music rejoice to see "the dean of church musicians in America" receive accolades so richly deserved. Too, these reflect in a humbler way on Cantor Manz' brothers and sisters in the ministry of church music.

Thank you for an entertaining and enlightening article!
