Confusion: It's Confusing! Member Picks New Review (Theater and Comedy) The Short List (Theater) Closing (Theater and Galleries)

When: Thursdays. Continues through May 13 2010

Though stylistically at odds with each other, the two pieces on this bill of one-acts by Terry McFadden are both silly, unambitious, and made for easy consumption. In "Fixers," a squeaky-voiced flapper (Sarah Evans) stops at a repair shop to pick up her toaster, only to be subjected to an absurd who's-on-first runaround from the owners. The second short, "Shift Change," offers a traditional character sketch centered on the repartee between a depressed barfly (Bret Dougherty) and his standoffish server (Amanda Monique Gregg). Director Jeffrey Ryan Ringgenberg shows a steady hand across two very different genres, eliciting a charming irksomeness from both Evans and Gregg. --Keith Griffith
